The Government of Mongolia, through the Environment and Climate Fund under Ministry of Environment and Tourism is going to implement a three-year project to build capacity to advance National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process in Mongolia. The Environment and Climate Fund is looking for National Coordinator to lead the PIU and daily progress of the NAP project.

Profile required:
The successful candidate for the National Coordinator position will have the following profile:

  • A postgraduate degree in public administration, natural resource management, the environment or a related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience in areas of work related to the development of sectoral and programming policies and planning and institutional capacity building in sustainable development policies and governance, sustainable development and sustainable development, environment and natural resources, with increasing responsibilities, preferably in areas related to climate change adaptation
  • At least two previous missions / positions providing professional experience related to facilitating and coordinating the participation of government-led stakeholders in setting up an externally funded program or projects in Mongolia or elsewhere
  • Excellent communication skills in written and oral Mongolian and proficiency in English
  • Experience in program development
  • Ability to work under pressure, with short lead times
  • Professional experience in the United Nations system is an asset.
